Notice: Past Master Dean Donaldson will conduct ritual instructions on Friday Nights at 6:30 P.M. and should be over no later than 8 P.M. This will be every Friday Night when no lodge work has been scheduled and when Brother Donaldson is in town. Participation is encouraged, but sitting on the sideline is allowed for any who have received the degree being studied.

IN MEMORIAM

Brother Roy L. McKee was born March 30, 1925. He was Raised a Master Mason on

August 31, 1974 in Caddo Lodge #179, Caddo, La (now Demised). He affiliated with our Irving

Lodge #1218 on March 11, 1975. He joined his Savior in Heaven about 10/20/2009. Irving Lodge was informed on 11/22/2011.

Brother Cal Everett Lavinder was born September 15, 1934. He was Raised a Master Mason in Irving Lodge #118 on October 18, 1971. He was accepted into that celestial Lodge Above on December 2, 2011. Masonic Graveside Services were conducted by R:.W:. Larry Fitzpatrick and Boliver Lodge #418. Sanger, Tx. as a courtesy to Irving Lodge #1218.

Brother William E. “Bill” Black was born November 16, 1926. He was Raised a Master Mason in Vickery Lodge #1351, Dallas, Tx. on January 25, 1983. He Affiliated with Irving Lodge on February 13, 1996. The Lord called his servant Home on December 6, 2011

We dedicate this bulletin to the memory of Roy L. McKee, Cal E. Lavinder and William E. “Bill” Black. Our thought and prayers are with the families and loved ones. We also ask that you remember our sick and their families. Many are in need of your prayers.

MEET OUR NEW DISTRICT DEPUTY GRAND MASTER

On Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at 6:30 P.M. Oak Cliff Lodge #705 will host a dinner and the introduction of the District Deputy Grand Masters for 2012. Every Officer should make an effort to meet Right Worshipful Steve Gooch, District Deputy Grand Master of District 14B.

FANTASTIC TEETH FOR KIDS

Irving Lodge joins with the Masonic Children & Families Services of Texas in a program called Fantastic Teeth Fan Club. This is an effort to show Kindergarten and/or 1st Grade students the proper care of their teeth. On Thursday, January 19, 2012 at 9:00 A.M. we will meet at Davis Elementary School and on the same day at 1:45 P.M. we will meet at Lively Elementary School. We will spend time teaching kids how to take care of their teeth and present a package of items such as tooth brush, tooth paste, etc.

Anyone desiring to join in this fun program should meet at the times and places listed above. You must present a drivers license to gain admission into any school in Irving.

DON’T FORGET YOUR DUES

Annual Dues are a necessary evil. Irving Lodge voted to increase the amount of our annual dues to $100.00. Lodge dues are payable in advance. This means that your year 2012 dues of $100.00 should be paid by December 31, 2011. But if you haven’t paid those dues yet, not to worry, but do it now. Better than mailing your dues in, bring the dues to Lodge at Stated Meetings or almost any Monday Night. We look forward to seeing you in the lodge meetings during this coming year. If you would prefer to spend 44 cents to mail your dues, send it to P. O. Box 170397, Irving, Tx. 75017. But we would much rather see you bringing it to lodge on a meeting night.

I’VE LEARNED:

That having a child fall asleep in your arms is one of the most peaceful feelings in the world.

That being kind is more important than being right.

That I can always pray for someone when I don’t have the strength to help him in some other way.

That sometimes all a person needs is a hand to hold and a heart to understand.

That love, not time, heals all wounds.

That I wish I could have told my Mom that I love her one more time before she passed away.

That the easiest way for me to grow as a person is to surround myself with people smarter than I am.

That life is tough, but I’m tougher.

WHAT WE SHOULD LEARN

* Not to argue with an idiot . He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

* You’re never too old to learn something stupid.
