We are pleased to dedicate this bulletin to Past Master C. Michael Woolsey who is serving this 2009 year as the District Deputy Grand Master of Masonic District 14 B. He was appointed by Grand Master W. David Counts, Jr. and installed at the Annual Communications of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Texas on Saturday, December 6, 2008.

Michael Woolsey was born in Dallas, Texas on November 26, 1951. He is married to Carol B. Strong Woolsey but they have not been blessed with children. He is employed by Glasfloss Industries as the National Sales Manager, ARW Division. Brother Woolsey was Raised a Master Mason in Irving Lodge #1218 on June 20, 1988. He was first appointed as an Officer in Irving Lodge as the Jr. Steward in 1990. He served as Master of Irving Lodge in 1997-’98. He was presented with the Grand Lodge Golden Trowel Award in 2006. After serving on many committees and in many offices and always available for service, he was asked to serve as the Grand Master’s Representative for District 14B for the year 2009.

We congratulate our friend and Brother on his appointment. We should all let him know how much we appreciate all he does. Shake his hand and thank him for all he does..

Irving Masonic Lodge will join with Carter Blood Care and the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in asking you to join us in our efforts to provide the actually “GIFT OF LIFE” for those in need of blood. This effort to provide blood to the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children and other hospitals is a serious problem that can only be answered by people such as you. Will you help a child in need of blood ?

Dean Donaldson, Past Master of Irving Lodge and Past District Deputy of Masonic District 14B is now holding classes on Monday and Wednesday at 7 PM on evenings when no degrees are scheduled. He invites those who wish to learn the proper opening and closed of a lodge and the various stations in the conferral of the degrees.

Brethren, each month we have noted in this bulletin that the annual dues for Irving Lodge are $75.00 payable in advance by December 31, for the following year. To be specific, the 2009 dues were due by December 31, 2008. We still have a few who have not paid. This creates a problem as our dues are almost the only source of income Irving Lodge has. To complicate the problem we have been informed that the Endowed Membership is in trouble with the current economy and will probably not be paying anything this year. To offset that loss of income, it was suggested at our last Stated Meeting that if the Endowed Members would remit the usual dues to cover the loss our Endowments, it would certainly be a great help to the Lodge.

A pastor places his order at the pet store. “I need at least 50 mice, 2,000 ants and as many of those little silverfish as you can get.” The clerk replies, “We can probably do that, but it may take some time. Mind if I ask why you are placing such an unusual order ?” The pastor replies, “I’ve accepted a call to another church and the Pastor’s Council told me to leave the parsonage the way I found it.”
