SPECIAL ATTENTION

Brethren, we have been blessed with no deaths of our members being reported for the last two months. However, there are many who are sick or need attention. If you know of a member and his family, or one of our Masonic Widows who are sick and/or need attention, please let the lodge know. All the officers names and telephone numbers are listed on the face of the bulletin.

MASONIC SCOUTER AWARD PRESENTATION

Irving Masonic Lodge #1218 held a covered dish dinner on November 21, 2009, at 6:30 P.M. and presented the Daniel Carter Beard Masonic Scouter Award for the first time in Irving Lodge. This award is for Masons who exemplify the Scout Law, and Masonic virtues in service to the Scouting Program. The Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania, in cooperation with the Boy Scouts of America created the Daniel Carter Beard Masonic Scouter Award. The Grand Lodge of Texas has recently authorized the presentation of this award to Texas Masons. Irving Lodge is proud to recognize in this manner, two of our members who deserve to be so honored.

Irving Lodge provided the meat, bread and drinks. All others were asked to bring a dish of their special dessert, vegetable or salad.

DUES ARE DUE

Every year at this time, we find it necessary to remind the brethren that dues are now due. The annual dues in Irving Lodge #1218 are $75.00 payable in advance by December 31, for the following year. In plain words, that means that the year 2010 dues are now due before December 31, 2009. We know everyone is tired of hearing that we will not get any return on our investments for the Endowed Memberships, but it is just the way it is. Any Endowed Member who would help us meet our financial needs could mail in the regular $75.00 dues to cover our loss. The Lodge would greatly appreciate any of our members who might remember Irving Lodge in their wills or other forms of donations.

IRVING SCOTTISH RITE CLUB - Third Tuesday

Again, we would remind you that the Irving Scottish Rite Club has been meeting in Irving Lodge on the 4th Tuesday each month at 6:30 P.M. Please make a note that a change has been made. They will now meet on the Third Tuesday each month at 6:30 P.M. at Irving Lodge, unless special arrangements are made. The meetings at the Lodge will include a covered dish dinner. Such a special arrangement has been made for November as plans are to eat at Spring Creek Bar-B-Q- at Hwy. 183 & Beltline Road. Dutch treat is in order for this dinner. All Scottish Right Masons and their Ladies as well as all Master Masons and their Ladies are always invited to attend the Irving Scottish Rite Club dinners and meetings.
