As we end the Masonic Year of 2009-2010 we want to take time to thank Worshipful Master Jimmy Walters, whose term of office will come to a close. Worshipful Jimmy Walters has dedicated 6 years to serving as an officer of Irving Lodge #1218. It is not always an easy job, nor is it always convenient to do those things which a man is called on to do as an officer of a Masonic Lodge. Jimmy Walters was Raised a Master Mason on August 21, 2000. In 2004 he started in the progression of offices which brought him to this closing of his year as Master. As a single man , his Mom (Jackie) answered a lot of his telephone calls and took messages when he was not available. To her we express our thanks. To Worshipful Master Jimmy Walters we dedicate this bulletin. Thank you Jimmy.

Irving Masonic Lodge is please to announce the presentation of the prestigious Community Builder Award to Mr. Dick Lear on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at a cover dish dinner at 6:30 P.M. Mr. Lear has served the community of Irving in many ways. Although he has never been initiated into Masonry, he has followed the same precepts, ideals and standards that have been established for Masonic behavior. He has quietly and without fanfare, shown his devotion to his community and its people without expectation of awards or honors.

The Lodge will provide the meat, drinks and bread. All others should bring their favorite salad, vegetable or dessert.

The last month, to get you annual dues paid to Irving Masonic Lodge without being suspended, is here. We still have a few who have not paid this years dues. If the Lodge is required to suspend a member for non payment of dues, it means that all accordant bodies are required to suspend him also.

June 23 is the last day before a suspension is issued. Contact the worshipful Master or Secretary if a problem exist in which we can help.

A Special Educations Meeting has been called for Officers and Members for the purpose of further understanding our Masonic Laws and Traditions. Part of the responsibilities of the Worshipful Master is to see that the brethren are properly informed on these items. If you have questions, make a note and bring it to the meeting. This meeting will be like a Town Hall meeting where everybody gets to speak if they so desire. The purpose is to educate. Most of us could use a little of that.

Brethren, that title tells it all. This is a Blood Drive where you make a gift and that gift may save a life of a child at the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, or some other hospital if the need is there. Blood can not be manufactured, and can only be acquired as a gift from some one who gave blood for someone in need. Without understanding the complications which covers all the way in which the blood is used, we can be assured that some person is very, very grateful to you for making this gift to them possible.

1. The Fasting & Prayer conference includes meals.
2. The Sermon this morning: ‘Jesus Walks on the Water.’ The sermon tonight: ‘Searching for Jesus.’
3. Ladies, don’t forget the rummage sale. It’s a chance to get rid of those things not worth keeping around the house. Bring you husbands.
4. Don’t let worry kill you off – let the Church help.
5. Miss Charlene Mason sang ‘I will not pass this way again,’ giving obvious pleasure to the congregation.
6. For those of you who have children and don’t know it, we have a nursery downstairs.
7. Next Thursday will be tryouts for the choir. They need all the help they can get.
8. A bean supper will be held on Tuesday evening in the church hall. Music will follow.
