A special night has been set aside to provide all the lodges in the 14th Masonic District an opportunity to have an Honoree of their choice to receive the Masonic Grand Lodge of Texas esteemed Lamar Medal for young people who are outstanding achievers. The Lamar Medal is named for Mirabeau B. Lamar, the second president of the Republic of Texas.  He is known as “The Father of  Public    Education in Texas,” because  his work resulted in the State of Texas setting up a public school system. The dinner and presentations will be made to the Honorees, including one representing our Irving Lodge, at the Dallas Scottish Rite Cathedral on March 27, 2013. (attendance by ticket only)
